The
Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics, the Department of Mathematics, New
University of Lisbon and the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, Portugal, are
proud to co-organize a four-day International Conference in Lisbon/Tomar,
Portugal. This year's conference theme is Interdisciplinary
Mathematical and Statistical Techniques.
The major concentration of the conference's academic activities will be in
mathematical and statistical sciences including, but not limited to,
Actuarial and Financial Mathematics, Statistics and Applications,
Biostatistics, Combinatorics, Computer and Information Sciences,
Differential Equations, Distribution Theory and Near Exact Distributions,
Environmental Statistics, Experimental Designs, Extreme Values, Forest
Mensuration Modeling, Forest Economics, Graph Theory, Linear Statistical
Inference, Mathematical Economics, Mathematics, Multivariate Statistics,
Nonparametric Statistical Inference, Operations Research,
Probability/Stochastic Processes, Public Health, Quality Control,
Reliability and Life Testing, Sampling, Semi Groups, and partner areas.
Those wishing to contribute outside these areas are welcome to submit their
abstracts. Suggestions for further topics and proposals to organize a
symposium should be sent to the
organizers.
The conference will feature separately a section on
student paper
competition. A selection panel will judge the presentations
and make recommendations for awards. In addition, the conference will devote
a session on "Editors
Round Table" to help scholars appreciate the "current trends
and techniques" of scholarly publications.
The deadline for submission of manuscripts for publication
has been extended through
February 28, 2007.
Papers presented at the SCRA 2006 Conference will appear, after due refereeing process, in the following journals:
- Papers on Design of
Experiments will appear in JSTP (Journal of Statistical Theory and
Practice – Editor-in-Chief: Sat Gupta –
http://journalstp.vsoftbs.com/). The
manuscripts should be sent electronically to M. L. Aggarwal (maggarwl@memphis.edu).
- All other Statistical
Sciences and Econometrics papers will appear in AJMMS (American Journal
of Mathematical and Management Sciences – Statistical Sciences Editor:
Satya Mishra –
http://www.ajmms.southalabama.edu/).
The manuscripts should be sent electronically to either Carlos Coelho (cmac@fct.unl.pt)
or Satya Mishra (mishra@jaguar1.usouthal.edu).
- Other Interdisciplinary
Mathematical Sciences papers will appear in JCISS (Journal of
Combinatorics, Information & System Sciences – Editor-in-Chief: Bhu
Dev Sharma). The manuscripts should be sent electronically to Carlos
Coelho (cmac@fct.unl.pt)
or Sat Gupta (sngupta@uncg.edu).
